Music for the Soul

During my junior year of college, I participated in an advanced documentary production course that included an international component in Amsterdam. As part of the class, we were divided into production teams, and my group chose to create a documentary exploring Amsterdam’s vibrant jazz scene, renowned as one of Europe’s leading hubs for jazz music.

Our project involved visiting numerous jazz venues and conducting interviews with two talented artists, Rayn Bechoe and Roxanne Hartog. I conceptualized the documentary's focus and served as the lead editor, shaping the final film into a cohesive and engaging narrative. The film was later accepted into the Centre Film Festival and the Yellowhammer Film Festival, where it was awarded Best Documentary.
